Biography
Dilara is a multidisciplinary artist born in the Netherlands and raised in Curaçao. Her practice explores memory, identity, and creativity through installation, painting, text, and performance. Drawing from personal and collective experiences, her work reflects on inherited histories and the ways in which they shape human behaviour and expression.
Artist Statement
"I am a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores memory, identity and play. By working with multiple media, I am allowing my creativity to flow freely in any direction it feels pulled toward.
Through my work, I express concerns, question personal and collective experience, process emotion, explore creative possibilities, and engage with the aesthetics of every day life. I aproach creating as a way of understanding and reconnecting with my inner child, while also questioning and challenging what I was taught."
